"I really am so sick of trying to live without you."

A product of the social system, Jaxxon Carter's life was tainted with violence and pain when she was young. Everyone would leave. At learned at an early age, she learned to never let anyone in if she didn't want to feel grief.

At twenty-two, Jaxxon works as a barmaid only to be discovered by a talent scout who then offers her to become a model of a cosmetics line. Her life gets a 180o turn. With her bluntness and alluring beauty, Jaxxon becomes a popular model and the times when she had to worry about whether she has enough money to go by were gone.

F1 Racer Connor McKenzie is used to girls throwing themselves at him. He is shocked when his childhood friend, the model Jaxxon Carter, brushes him off when he tries to connect with her after eight years. Unexpected rudeness from Jaxxon's part

But he does not allow himself to be fazed. Connor pursues Jaxxon like a man possessed and he is determined to let her acknowledge the attraction between them.

When you say "Suzanne Wright", the first thing that comes to my mind is a creator of headstrong and witty heroines.

I really loved Jaxxon. She was so funny and despite the change in her lifestyle, she remained down-to-earth. I actually felt for her when she got angry because of Connor contacting her when she became a popular model. That just felt so wrong.

This story was "a clash of alpha personalities".

Connor was very possessive and bossy and Jaxxon wouldn't allow anyone to tell her what to do. It was refreshing and fun to see their personalities clash.

I just hope that there's going to be a second book in the series.
